Chaperones at the teen-age Friday night dances at Memorial Building: Gertie Walstrom, Mrs. Bill Margaret Jacobson, Esther Cloon. 10 cents admission to dance.

Winning the U.P. Basketball Class “C” Championship, March 1954
Riding the city bus to go to the Ironwood teen-age dances.
Riding city bus to Ironwood for shopping trips (especially on Friday afternoons).
Boys carrying the girls skates home after skating night.
Dancing to the jukebox at the pavilion at Eddy Park.
Summer band practices at 8 a.m.
Trips to Mr. Sutter’s office.
Dorothy Rolando working in the kitchen at the Lakeview.
Odessa’s (Carlson) cooking class. We made some things that were pretty bad. They wouldn’t even flush down the drain.

The joy of WHS was marching in the band at football games, Memorial Day, July 4.
A classmate putting a tack on Ben Dianich’s chair. Who is going to ‘fess up’?? He was a “good” guy!

Playing smear during noon hours. Taught by Larry Bruno and Bill Verch. Heated smear games until 1 pm bell rang.

“Green River” phosphate drink Pat Linder served at the drugstore.
Skating on the creek by Carol Salmela’s house and RR’s.
Shooting rats, cutting their tails off and getting 5 cents per tail from the city hall.
Eating middling from bins at Neidhold’s store.
